The rules for using SAIGE Opportunity, in plain language. Please read them — they explain what we can and can't promise about the opportunities you find here.
At a glance
- SAIGE Opportunity is free. Listings come from third-party organisations — always confirm details at the source before applying.
- Scores, matches and summaries are produced with AI help. They're guidance, not advice.
- You own your business profile and choose what to publish.
- Contact details shared with you are for that conversation only — no spam, no scraping.
1. These terms
SAIGE Opportunity (saigeopportunity.org) is run by SAIGE Africa(“we”, “us”). These terms apply whenever you use it. By creating an account, or by using the platform without one, you agree to them. If you use it on behalf of a business or organisation, you confirm you're allowed to accept these terms for it.
Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information and forms part of these terms.
2. What SAIGE Opportunity is
A free platform that gathers funding, investment, support and market opportunities in African agriculture into one place, matches them to your profile, and helps businesses check and show their readiness. It is free to use. We may add, change or withdraw features, and we may pause the platform for maintenance.
3. Your account
- You must be 18 or older to create an account.
- Give accurate information and keep it up to date.
- Keep your password to yourself. You're responsible for what happens on your account; tell us straight away at info@saigeafrica.org if you think someone else has used it.
- One person per account. Accounts can't be sold or transferred.
4. Opportunity listings
Most listings are gathered from the public websites of the organisations offering them, summarised with the help of AI and reviewed by our team. Some are posted directly by the organisations themselves.
We don't run these opportunities and can't guarantee them.Details such as deadlines, amounts and eligibility can change or be wrong. Always check the official source before you rely on a listing or apply. Applications are made directly with the organisation offering the opportunity; we aren't part of that process or of any agreement that follows, and we don't decide outcomes. A listing doesn't mean we endorse, or are connected to, the organisation behind it.
5. AI-generated content
Listing summaries, matches, readiness scores and readiness reports are produced with the help of AI. They can be incomplete or wrong. They are information to help you decide what to look at — not financial, investment, legal or other professional advice, and not a guarantee of eligibility or success. Investors and partners should carry out their own checks before relying on any score or report.
6. Your business profile and content
You own what you put on the platform. You're responsible for it being accurate, lawful and yours to share — including figures such as revenue and capital raised.
By publishing a business profile, you give us permission to host, display and share the parts you choose to show, worldwide and free of charge, so that we can run and promote the directory. This lasts until you unpublish the profile or delete your account, except for copies already shared or cached elsewhere, which we can't recall.
We may remove or unpublish content that breaks these terms or that we reasonably believe is misleading.
7. Managing an organisation
Only claim an organisation's page if you're authorised to act for it. We review claims and may ask for evidence, decline a claim, or remove someone's access later. When a claim is approved, your name is shown publicly as the organisation's manager, and you become responsible for what you publish on its behalf — including any opportunities you post, which must be genuine, accurate and open as described.
8. Contacting other users
You can send requests to businesses in the directory. The business decides whether to respond or share anything. If an owner accepts an “express interest” request, we share their email address with you so you can talk directly.
Use contact details you receive only for the conversation they were shared for — never for bulk messages, marketing lists or resale. We limit how many requests can be sent each day. Any deal you make with another user is between you and them; do your own due diligence.
9. Acceptable use
Don't use SAIGE Opportunity to:
- break the law, or publish anything false, misleading, defamatory or infringing;
- pretend to be someone else, or to represent an organisation you don't;
- scrape, copy in bulk or harvest data from the platform — especially contact details;
- send spam, or misuse the request system;
- upload malware, probe for vulnerabilities, or interfere with the platform or other people's use of it;
- get around any limit, ban or security measure.
10. Our content and links
The platform's design, software, and the way we compile and present listings belong to us or our licensors. You may use them to find and act on opportunities for yourself or your organisation, and share links to them. Descriptions of opportunities may belong to the organisations that publish them. We link to other websites we don't control and aren't responsible for them.
11. Emails
We send emails about your account and activity, alerts from organisations you follow, and a weekly digest. You can switch off the digest and alerts at any time; account and security emails continue while your account is open.
12. Suspending or closing accounts
You can stop using the platform at any time, and ask us to delete your account by emailing info@saigeafrica.org. We may suspend or close an account, or remove content, if it breaks these terms, puts other users at risk, or if the law requires it. Where it's reasonable, we'll tell you why first.
13. Our responsibility to you
We work hard to keep SAIGE Opportunity accurate and available, but we provide it “as is”. As far as the law allows, we don't promise it will always be available or error-free, or that any listing, match, score or report is correct.
As far as the law allows, we aren't responsible for losses that come from relying on listings or AI-generated content without checking them, from your dealings with the organisations behind listings or with other users, or for indirect losses such as lost profits or opportunities.
Nothing in these terms removes rights you have under the consumer-protection laws of your country, or limits liability that cannot legally be limited.
14. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the platform changes. We'll change the “last updated” date above and, for significant changes, tell you by email or on the platform before they take effect. If you keep using SAIGE Opportunity after that, the new terms apply.
15. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Ghana, and disputes will be heard by its courts — unless the law of the country where you live gives you the right to bring a claim there instead. We'd always rather resolve a problem directly, so please contact us first.
